i was happy with hotel's convenient and easy location right beside a famous nyonya kuih shop two rows down. location: the venue was next to night clubs and the restaurant and free n easy night life. i ate in the in-house restaurant nearby.

Good location, spacious room
The room smelled damp/musty and there seemed to be an issue with flies in my bathroom. The family room was above me and the children ran about like elephants on the wooden flooring until 12am - maybe should consider carpets in the family rooms as its inevitable children run around

Our room was spacious, had complimentary WiFi, and fulfilled all our needs despite the air conditioning not working, and having a shared bathroom.

Their front desk personnels are friendly, converse well in English, helpful and informative. It is a very clean property.
When you stay on the ground level, you can hear the foot steps on the second level due to the wooden flooring/ceiling. It will be good if the bathroom has a separate standing shower so that it does not wet the toilet seat when one showers. The water also does not flow easily to the drainage, thus the entire toilet floor is always wet after one shower.

Chulia hotel is located in a good spot, set back from the main road which keeps the noise from traffic and other locations down. It is within walking distance to little india and lots of restaurants and bars, and lots of buses. The rooms were clean and the airconditioning was very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The rooms (especially the bathroom) are pretty small. It is quite a noisy hotel and you can hear people in reception and the people upstairs running, and making noise easily. Our room also had a over door window which had no curtains so it was quite light in the room all night.

Clean, bright & spacious. Free parking. Surrounded by many good local food like Penang laksa, cendol, char kway teow, porridge, bak chang, desserts. Shops for souvenirs, night markets & safe for families traveling with children. Recommend for traffic mirror to be installed at the entrance of the driveway as it is a blind spot to turn out to main road.
Peak period surcharge. No flexibility to add an additional bed even though there's space in the room.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
